The Eagle Grove Memorial Library was founded in 1903. A new single story facility was built in 1976 one block west of the original Carnegie building. The Carnegie building is currently the home of the Eagle Grove Historical Society and Museum.
Services available at the library include: an on-line public access catalong, EBSCO Hose online periodical database, the Auto Repair Referce Center online, Internet access, public access computers, interlibrary loan for materials not owned by the library, copy machine, fax machine, microfilm reader/printer, Wright County census materials, the Eagle Grove area newspapers (1182 - to present), a public meeting room, puppets, LeapPads with interactive books and many other services in addition to books, large print books, books on cassette, books on CD, magazines and newspapers. One of our most appreciated services is the magazine exchange in our lobby. It's a great way to recycle your magazines; there is always something of interest available on the exchange. Please stop by the library to pick up your password for access to EBSCO Host and the Auto Repair Referce Center from your home or office computer.
Programming opportunities include: preschool story time, story time at Eagle's Wings Child Care and Preschool, summer reading program for children, semi-annual book sale, and other activities. Additional programs are co-sponsored with the Eagle Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations.
Used ink jet cartridges and old cell phones are collected and recycled as a fund raiser for the library.
The library also accepts materials for their book sales.
